Why borosilicate glass?
Borosilicate glass was first created by Friedrich Otto Schott, a German chemist and glass maker born in 1851 in Witten. Borosilicate glass, sometimes known as Pyrex or Borosil is formed when boron oxide is added to soda-lime glass. It is chemically and heat resistant, taste neutral, has a low thermal expansion coefficient and a high softening point making it the ideal material for our Cooleo bottle. During its production the glass is is melted up to a temperature of approximately 1600°C. High quality borosilicate glass is not only great to touch but crystal clear, ultra lightweight , durable, microwave- & dishwasher-safe and easy to clean. However, we recommend to treat the bottle with gentle care, similar to delicate wine glasses and avoid sharp edges, hard surfaces or glass to glass contact.
